UST System Performance Evaluation
EPA's Office of Underground Storage Tanks (OUST) completed a study on dispenser releases in South Carolina and drafted two studies to obtain quantitative data about UST system performance. These studies include information on the sources and causes of releases from UST systems.
Frequency And Extent Of Dispenser Releases At Underground Storage Tank Facilities In South Carolina (EPA-510-R-04-004, September 2004). This study summarizes the frequency and extent of releases at dispensers in South Carolina. It was finalized in September of 2004.
Draft Study: Evaluation Of Releases From New And Upgraded Underground Storage Tank Systems - This study summarizes information from 580 UST releases from 22 states and the Missouri Petroleum Storage Tank Insurance Fund. The results include information on sources and causes of releases, method of discovery (including leak detection), and age to release discovery information. EPA released this study for peer review in September, 2004.
Draft Study: Petroleum Releases At Underground Storage Tank Facilities In Florida - This study summarizes information from 512 UST releases from nine counties in Florida. The results include information on sources and causes of releases, method of discovery (including leak detection), age to release discovery information, and environmental media affected.
