Superfund and Technology Liaison, Region 7
Robert Weber
Since January of 2009, Rob Weber has served as the Superfund and Technology Liaison (STL) for EPA Region 7. He is a senior scientist in the EPA Office of Research and Development (ORD) headquarter’s Office of Science Policy (OSP) in Washington, D.C., but is stationed in the Region 7 office in Kansas City, Kansas. Rob facilitates and provides direct technical assistance on hazardous waste sites/issues and facilitates access to ORD and other national technical resources for Superfund remedial project managers, on-scene coordinators, brownfields project managers, and RCRA corrective action officers. Rob also assists with hazardous-waste-related training and research coordination.
Prior to becoming an STL, Rob was a Remedial Project Manager (RPM) in EPA Region 7 managing several large-scale National Priorities List (NPL) sites with remedial and removal components. Prior to EPA, Rob was employed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) in Topeka, Kansas as a unit manager and project manager for the Superfund and Federal Facilities program and as a project manager for the Landfill Remediation, Drycleaning Facility Release Trust Fund, and Spill Response Unit. Prior to KDHE, Rob worked in the private sector as a project geologist for an environmental engineering and consulting company in Overland Park, Kansas working on environmental investigation and remediation sites across the US.
Rob has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Geology from the University of Kansas, Lawrence and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Geology from Kansas State University, Manhattan.
