Manufacturer-Run In-Use Testing

EPA has adopted requirements for manufacturers of heavy-duty highway engines to perform in-use testing with certified engines. This page includes information from the rulemakings to adopt and modify these requirements. See heavy-duty highway engines for information on emission standards and other certification requirements.
Separate in-use testing requirements apply for Large SI engines and Marine SI engines.
