- February 12, 2013: SmartWay Certified Vehicle scoring thresholds for model year 2014 are now available.
- February 7, 2013: EPA approved a new blender pump configuration, submitted by the Renewable Fuels Association, for general use by retail stations that wish to dispense E15 and E10 from a common hose and nozzle.

- February 1, 2013: SmartWay has released a new Rail Tool for 2012 data. The completed Tool is due on May 20, 2013.

- January 31, 2013: EPA proposes the 2013 RFS Volume Standards.
- January 31, 2013: EPA proposes a voluntary third party quality assurance plan.
- January 7, 2013: SmartWay has released a new Truck Carrier Tool for 2012 data. In conjunction with the new tool release, SmartWay is publishing a calendar of upcoming events which will regularly be updated with notices of other tools, webinars, etc.

- December 27, 2012: EPA issued a waiver of preemption for California's Advanced Clean Car program regulations.
- December 27, 2012: EPA is currently conducting adequacy review of PM2.5 attainment plans for Cache Valley, Idaho and Oakridge, Oregon.
- December 20, 2012: EPA is currently conducting adequacy review of 8-hour ozone maintenance plan for San Diego County, California.
- December 20, 2012: OTAQ has created a new webpage containing all guidance and resources relating to project-level air quality analyses. New tools and training for completing these analyses have also been made available on this site.
- December 14, 2012: EPA finalizes modifications to the Transmix provisions under the Diesel Sulfur Program.
- December 6, 2012: DOE and EPA release 2013 annual Fuel Economy Guide.
