Environmental Quality Awards
Each April, EPA honors individuals and organizations who have contributed significantly to improving the environment during the prior year in New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Read the press release | comunicado de prensa.
The awards recognize achievement in the following categories:
- Individual Citizen
- Non-Profit Organization, Environmental or Community Group
- Environmental Education
- Business & Industry
- Federal, State, Local or Tribal Government or Agency
- Media
- Significantly contributed to improving environmental quality in New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands during the prior year.
- Demonstrated a high achievement level in the award category.
- Created unique or location-specific benefits, produced results that are sustainable or reproducible, or increased public involvement in environmental action.
Nominations must be submitted by February 21, 2012.
Nominations must include:
- A completed nomination form | formulario de nominación
- A narrative description of the nominee’s accomplishments.
- Supporting documentation such as testimonials, news clippings, etc.
Please note that:
- Last year's award winners are not eligible.
- Award winners from 2010 and prior years are eligible, but must be renominated for consideration this year.
- Self-nominations are welcome.
