Download the TRI Basic Plus Data File Documentation (PDF, 209 pp, 577KB, About PDF)
The Basic Plus Data File are sets of seven file types (bundled into a compressed, self-extracting format for downloading) that collectively contain all the data submitted on the TRI Reporting Form R or Form A Certification Statement by facilities. The data contained in each of the files are tab delimited (a tab is placed between each data element). The files all have the ".txt" extension, but they can be opened with most spreadsheet programs or PC-based database applications. Many of the descriptions refer to the TRI Form R and Form A Certification Statement. These are the forms that facilities use to submit data to the TRI Program. The document "Reporting Forms and Instructions for Reporting Year 2008" contains the actual forms and instructions for completing them, as well as a complete lists of values for the data fields. See the Reporting Materials and Guidance web page for more information.

TRI Federal Facility Data
- The TRI Federal Facility File Set are data reported by federally-owned facilities. Some federal government facilities are operated by contractors. These facilities are known as Government Owned, Contractor Operated facilities or GOCOs. In cases where both the governmental entity and the GOCO contractor have both reported data for a facility, the data submitted by the federal entity is used and appears in the Federal Facility File set. In cases where only the GOCO contractor has reported, the GOCO contractor data appear in the file.
TRI State Data
- The data files for each individual state are presented in the file types described above (in a compressed, self-extracting format for downloading). Simply click on the individual state in the map or the state name in the table below the map to obtain the data for that state.
