Aging Initiative Home
Welcome to EPA's Aging Initiative Website. It provides a wealth of information on both environmental health issues and environmental stewardship.
In 2011, the U.S. Census estimated there were 41.4 million persons aged 65 and older, or 13% of the population. By 2030, the number of older persons is expected to increase to more than 72 million (20%) and continue to increase thru 2050. Persons over 85 years of age and older represent the fastest growing age cohort in the U.S. Read more about the Aging Initiative.
