Do I Remember the 70’s?
Do I remember the 70’s? Yes, Indeed I do!
Quite a few things happened
A lot of them new.
First was my brand new Maverick car
New to the showroom display.
Ebony- a beauty by far
A pleasure to drive every day.
Next was the microwave oven
Forget the toaster- whole meals could be cooked
Smells ever-loving
Seven minutes later-- a dinner is "nukked."
As a nurse I had been working 13 years
Loved every day that I paced the halls
Patients got well –went home to their canes
And I continued answering their calls.
With 6 children, if I mentioned all—
Never mind! Never mind! Never fear.
I’m proud of them all, I declare.
And those are just a few of my 70’s!!
