| Description |
Iowa imposes a replacement generation tax of 0.06 cents per kilowatt-hour on various forms of electricity generated within the state. This tax is imposed in lieu of a property tax on generation facilities. All energy generated by methane gas conversion property (including digester gas facilities) is exempt from the replacement generation tax for a period of 10 years. The exemption may only be claimed if the facility is placed in service between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2012. |
