| Description |
Authorized by Statute 216C.41 and supported by the state's Renewable Development Fund, Minnesota offers a production incentive of 1.5 cents per kilowatt-hour for electricity generated from farm anaerobic manure digester systems. The incentive is available for the first 10 years of a system's operation. In 2007, this incentive was expanded to also include the methane captured from on-farm anaerobic digesters that is not used to produce electricity. Anaerobic digesters that produce electricity are eligible for payments from July 1, 2001 through December 31, 2017. |

| How to Apply | There is no formal application form prepared by the Department of Commerce. Applicants should apply by letter prior to installation to assure the funding is still available. |
