| Description |
The Rhode Island Renewable Energy Fund (RIREF) provides financing options for renewable energy projects that have the potential to make electricity in a cleaner, more sustainable manner and stimulate job growth in the green technology and energy sectors of Rhode Island's economy. Technical and feasibility studies are funded up to $200,000 per year. Municipal renewable energy projects are funded up to $500,000 per year. Renewable-energy systems eligible for support include facilities in the New England Power Pool (NEPOOL) control area that generate electricity, both off-grid and on-grid using as fuel "eligible renewable energy resources" pursuant to Rhode Island general law. |

| How to Apply | Applications for technical feasibility and municipal projects are due in the spring and summer. All other projects are reviewed on a rolling basis. Forms are available on the company's website at the link provided below. |
