Low Ozone Study Finds Health Effects
Research has shown for the first time that exposure to ozone below the current national air quality standard can cause significant effects on pulmonary function and airway inflammation in healthy, young adults undergoing intermittent exercise. The study was conducted by EPA in collaboration with the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
The study is published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
