Ecosystems Research

Justin E. Babendreier

My research supports development of multi-media assessment strategies and modeling systems by integrating multi-media exposure and risk assessment of hazardous contaminant releases with model evaluation science.  Investigations include probabilistic integrated multimedia modeling, Windows/Linux-based supercomputing approaches, and developing software technologies to cover a range of uncertainty analysis, sensitivity analysis, and parameter estimation (UA/SA/PE) techniques.  Research covers multi-dimensional uncertainty analysis; sampling-based model solution strategies; inverse problem formulation and optimization technologies screening, local, and global-based sensitivity analysis methods; and design and development of SuperMUSE, a 400-node PC Supercomputer for Model Uncertainty and Sensitivity Evaluation.
