Dalizza Colón
My research has aimed at improving the understanding of transformations of organic contaminants in aquatic systems. More recently, I have focused on the effect of environmentally relevant variables, as well as structural composition changes of nitroaromatics, nitrosobenzenes, N-hydroxylanilines, and other aromatic amines on their transformations. My work addresses the fate of organic micropollutants, such as active pharmaceutical ingredients for human consumption and hormonally active chemicals associated with concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO) wastes in aquatic and terrestrial systems.
