Ecosystems Research

Kelvin Wong

Prior to coming to EPA, my research focused mostly on detection and fate of enteric viruses in the environment. I utilized molecular and culture technique to investigate quantitative levels of enteric viruses in the environment. I have also performed field- and bench-scale experiments to study fate and transport of enteric viruses in the environment. At EPA I’m focusing on understanding factors which affect the survival and transport of pathogens and indicators in the environment; this knowledge will contribute to the framework of Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment (QMRA).
