Coral Reef Fish - Butterflyfishes
Butterflyfishes belong to the family Chaetodontidae. They are small, colorful fish that travel alone or in pairs, and are easlity identied from angelfish by their small size (less than 6 inches) and slightly concave forehead. They have small protractile mouths and a continuous dorsal fin. The adults are fairly easy to identify, but the juveniles are sometimes a challenge.
