Microbial Commercial Activity Notices (MCANs) for transgenic E. coli from Third Wave Technologies, j02-001
On November 19, 2001, the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) received a Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) from Third Wave Technologies, submitted under the biotechnology regulations promulgated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (62 FR 17910 (April 11, 1997); codified at 40 C.F.R. Part 725). The MCAN was given the EPA tracking designation J-02-0001. The recipient microorganism is E. coli BL21. These microorganisms will be used to produce an enzyme which would be used in biomedical research and clinical diagnostics.
