Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) for modified Trichoderma reesei from Genencor International Inc.

On May 28, 2007, the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) received a Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) from Danisco US (formerly Genencor International), Inc., submitted under the biotechnology regulations promulgated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (62 FR 17910 (April 11, 1997)), codified at 40 C.F.R. Part 725. The MCAN was given the EPA tracking designation J07-0002. The recipient microorganism is a Trichoderma reesei strain modified from the wild-type. The generic name for the new microorganism is Trichoderma reesei strain 3277. This microorganism will be used for the synthesis of phytase.
