Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) for modified Trichoderma reesei from Danisco US (formerly Genencor International), Inc., J09-0001
On February 25, 2009, the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) received a Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) from Danisco US (formerly Genencor International), Inc., submitted under the biotechnology regulations promulgated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (62 FR 17910 (April 11, 1997); codified at 40 C.F.R. Part 725). The MCAN was given the EPA tracking designation J-09-01. The recipient microorganism is a Trichoderma reesei strain modified from the wild-type. The generic name for the new microorganism is Trichoderma reesei strain 3309. This microorganism will be used for the synthesis of laccase.
