Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) for modified Trichoderma reesei Danisco US (formerly Genencor International), Inc., J10-0002
On November 2, 2009, the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) received a Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) from Danisco US (formerly Genencor International), Inc., submitted under the biotechnology regulations promulgated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (62 FR 17910 (April 11, 1997); codified at 40 C.F.R. Part 725). The MCAN was given the EPA tracking designation J-10-02. The recipient microorganism is a Trichoderma reesei strain modified from the wild-type. The generic name for the new microorganism is Trichoderma reesei strain CBI. This microorganism will be used to produce enzymes for ethanol production.
