Diversa Corporation's Submission of a Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) for an Intergeneric Strain of Pseudomonas flourescens
On July 9, 1998, the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) received a Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) from Diversa Corporation, submitted under the biotechnology regulations promulgated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (62 FR 17910 (April 11, 1997); promulgated at 40 C.F.R. Part 725). The microorganism is an intergeneric strain of Pseudomonas flourescens, and the MCAN was given the EPA tracking designation J98-0003. This microorganism will be used in the commercial biosynthesis of an enzyme for secondary oil recovery operations.
