EPA’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer is leading a major change in the Agency’s financial management IT system, known as the Financial System Modernization Project (FSMP). The system will improve business processes while ensuring integrity in accountability and financial controls.
EPA's FSMP plan focuses on implementing the Agency’s core financial system by October 2011 as the first of six phase-based components. This phase-based approach, with joint oversight from EPA’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer, defers spending on future components, incorporates six project checkpoints before the core financial system implementation date, and reduces the project's overall risk.
Questions regarding EPA’s FSMP can be directed to Michael L. Roberts at Roberts.MichaelL@epa.gov.
