International District Energy Association 100th Annual Conference & Trade Show

The International District Energy Association (IDEA) is hosting its 100th Annual Conference & Trade Show June 28-July 1, 2009, in Washington DC. The theme of the event is "Local Energy, Global Solution" and will showcase district energy and CHP as winning energy strategies.
Participants will:
- Hear world leaders talk about District Energy/CHP as a first tier climate strategy.
- Listen as policy experts expand world views on energy efficiency and carbon trading.
- Engage with senior industry executives who drive infrastructure investment decisions.
- Connect with global resources, equipment suppliers and service providers who are designing and building world-class district energy systems.

BioPower Generation USA: Growing Opportunities in Biomass Power Generation

GreenPower's 5th BioPower Generation conference will examine the latest developments in the U.S. biomass power generation industry across the entire biomass power generation value chain.
The EPA CHP Partnership will be on the "Improving Plant Efficiencies" panel to provide an overview of the Partnership and our resources specific to biomass CHP.
In addition to this panel, the conference agenda will also address the following issues:
- What do recent policy developments mean for the biopower industry?

American Public Power Association CHP Meeting

On July 23, 2009, the American Public Power Association (APPA) will be hosting a meeting on CHP in Albuquerque, NM. The event will showcase public power utilities and CHP experts who will discuss when a CHP system should be considered and how to leverage stimulus funds to install a CHP system. The meeting will conclude with a tour of the University of New Mexico's CHP project, which won a 2007 ENERGY STAR CHP Award. The project has an operating efficiency of 64 percent and supplies more than a third of campus electricity needs.

EPA CHP 2009 Partners Meeting and NYSERDA Conference on CHP
October 1-2, 2009

The U.S. EPA's CHP Partnership will hold its 2009 Partners Meeting on October 1-2, at the New York Marriott Downtown in New York, New York. This year's meeting will be held in conjunction with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Conference on CHP. The EPA CHPP Partners Meeting will be held on Thursday, October 1, and the NYSERDA CHP Conference will be take place on Friday, October 2.
Join EPA and NYSERDA to:
- Hear the latest updates on federal and state-level climate policies addressing CHP
- Gain knowledge of successful financing strategies, including opportunities for CHP incentives in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
- Learn about innovative Partner success stories on such topics as biomass CHP and CHP opportunities in healthcare facilities and multifamily housing
- Participate in a peer-to-peer discussion among administrators of state-run CHP grant programs from CHP-leading states about program objectives and mechanisms used by the programs to select projects, establish funding levels, and trigger payments
- Network with other CHP Partners and exchange ideas on emerging market opportunities
