Additional Information A low interest loan program will be available for retail end-use customers for customer-side distributed generation (DG) projects. Eligible projects must be at least 50 kW and no more than 65 MW. Generators must begin operation after January 1, 2006. Incremental capacity increases are eligible, however, existing capacity is not eligible. Loans are available to Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P) and United Illuminating (UI) customers for projects located in the service territories for those two utilities. Emergency generation projects for hospitals, nursing homes, or other facilities are not eligible. Gas air conditioning and gas chiller systems are also not eligible. Loans are available for projects funded by the Clean Energy Fund or CL&P's and UI's Conservation Programs. Interest rates are fixed and do not exceed the prime rate. The actual interest rate is determined at the time the application is approved. Project capital costs and project development costs are eligible for financing, and loans will be collateralized. The loan program has no specified end date at this time.
