| Size of Award | Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) through their Sustainable Natural Alternative Power (SNAP) program offers an incentive payment for owners that install renewable energy generators and then connect them to the GVEA grid. The purpose of SNAP is to connect producers of renewable energy with consumers that want to purchase their electricity from renewables. The amount a renewable energy producer receives is based on the number of customers participating in GVEA's green pricing program. The payment received by renewable owners is based on the unit's production on a $/kWh basis with a maximum payment of $1.50/kWh. Eligible sources are generators that are fueled by wind or solar energy and other alternative energy resources. Units are limited to 25 kW of generating capacity or less. The SNAP program runs from April 1 to March 31st of every year. |
