| Size of Award | This loan program is available for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects for public and governmental buildings. Eligible recipients include public schools, public colleges and universities, city governments and county governments. Loan amounts are based on the projected amount of energy that will be saved by the project. For 2010, financing is available at a 0% interest rate coupled with a 1% loan origination fee. Repayment schedules are determined on an individual project basis, but may not exceed 10 years. Loans under this program are determined on a competitive basis according to payback period. Up to $10 million in loan funding will available for calendar year 2010 in two separate funding cycles of $5 million each. Applications for the first cycle are being accepting through April 30, 2010. The second cycle will accept applications from July 1, 2010 through October 15, 2010. Loans amounts are generally limited to $1 million, but if sufficient funding remains after all loan applications have been reviewed and evaluated, larger loans may be considered. Since the program's inception in 1989, loans totaling over $80 million have been made through this program, resulting in an estimated cumulative savings of $146 million. The Missouri DNR released the list of FY 2009 awards in December 2008. |
