Size of AwardThe National Science Foundation (NSF) is providing funding under their Energy for Sustainability Program. The Energy for Sustainability program will issue funding for research and education in energy production, and conversion and storage. The program targets environmentally friendly and renewable sources. Eligible sources of sustainable energy are sunlight, wind, and biomass. Hydrogen and alcohol production from renewables is an eligible funding area. Research in advancing current technologies is also encouraged. Eligible topics of research are - the critical components of low temperature fuel cells; increased efficiency of wind systems; and the use of semi-conducting materials and titanium dioxide in photovoltaic devices. No specific funding amount or number of awards is specified.
