Size of AwardThe U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) released the Climate Change Technology Program (CCTP) Strategic Plan, on September 20, 2006. This plan will provide roughly $3 billion in federal funding for climate technology research, development, demonstration, and deployment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while increasing economic growth. Specific funding opportunities for the $3 billion have not yet been determined.

Additional InformationThe CCTP is part of the comprehensive U.S. climate change strategy first introduced by President Bush in 2002. CHP and other end-use efficiency projects along with renewables such as biomass projects will be eligible for funding.
