| Critical Information | The Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC) will be sponsoring grants for customer-side distributed generation (DG). The grants were originally made possible by the state's Act Concerning Energy Independence passed in July 2005. There are different types of grants available to customer-side DG units. Emergency Generation grants are $200/kW. Base Load Distributed Generation grants are $450/kW. Generation projects located in Southwest Connecticut that begin operation prior to April 30, 2008 are eligible to receive an additional grant of $50/kW. |

| Additional Information | Certain stipulations apply to DG units. Emergency generators must participate in an ISO-NE response program. Base load generators must operate at 85% capacity, between the hours of 12-8 pm weekdays, in the months of January and February and June through September. If these generators cannot meet the operation requirements then they must be prorated accordingly. There are no minimum size requirements but the maximum size is 65 MW. Only new or incremental capacity is eligible and units must have submitted an interconnection application after July 21, 2005. |
