| Critical Information | The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC) oversees interconnection standards under Rule 570 and Rule 571. Rule 570 applies to all qualifying facilities under PURPA, such as renewable energy and CHP systems up to 80 MW; utilities can require systems over 50 kW to have insurance and pay incremental meter installation costs but there is a standard interconnection agreement for systems equal to or smaller than 100 kW. Rule 571 applies to small renewable-energy and CHP systems up to 10 kW and includes a simplified standard interconnection agreement. Eligible technologies: photovoltaics, landfill gas, biomass, geothermal electric, fuel cells, CHP, and other technologies. |
