| Critical Information | In 2004, Nevada Power Company issued standby rates that are favorable to CHP systems. To qualify for the Large Standby Service Rider (LSR), a customer must have a maximum demand that is more than 500 kW but less than 20 MW. Customer's CHP systems do not have to meet FERC guidelines for the LSR rate. Nevada Power Company will accept customers under the LSR rate until an aggregate 75 MW demand is reached. |

| Additional Information | The LSR rate has advantages over the otherwise applicable LGS-3 rate, although the energy charges are the same. The benefits of the LSR appear if the customer experiences a forced outage, then the applicable demand charge is calculated based on the number of hours the customer's facility was down during the time of use. During a forced outage the customer would only pay the otherwise applicable rate if the total outage exceeded 8 hours over the month's on peak period. Therefore, the LSR rate rewards reliability and encourages maintenance during the utility's off peak period. * No specified expiration date has been applied to this rate. |
