| Critical Information | The Public Utility Commission (PUC) of Texas interconnection standards became effective in 2001. These rules apply to electricity generating units (EGU) located at the customer's delivery point with a maximum capacity of 10 MW and connected to less than 60 kV. EGUs up to 500 kW are not required to pay pre-interconnection study fees. The time limit for approval or rejection of units is anywhere between 4-6 weeks. An external disconnect is required for all units. There are brief standardized interconnection applications (2-3 pages) and interconnection agreements (4-5 pages). No additional insurance is required for a system and liability insurance is limited. Eligible Technologies: Solar Thermal Electric, Photovoltaics, Landfill Gas, Wind, Biomass, Hydroelectric, Geothermal Electric, Fuel Cells, Municipal Solid Waste, CHP/Cogeneration, Other Distributed Generation Technologies. |
