Additional InformationThe Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking applicants for its Integrated Biorefinery System Grant Program, listed under program number DE-PS36-06GO96016. Funding has been made available by the Energy Policy Act (EPAct) of 2005, Section 932. Funding is expected to be offered for three years (2007-2009) and the total amount available is $160 million. Funding for FY 2008 and 2009 will be subject to appropriated funds. DOE seeks applications to design, construct, build and operate an integrated biorefinery employing lignocellulosic feedstocks for the production of combinations of:
i) liquid transportation fuels;
ii) biobased chemicals;
iii) substitutes for petroleum-based feedstocks and products; and
iv) energy in the form of electricity or useful heat
