| Partner Profile
Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been actively involved in EPA?s Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Partnership since March 2002, providing technical assistance and support. Illinois EPA has a vested interest in facilitating initiatives that strive to improve the efficient use of energy and minimize air pollution. The Agency has provided detailed inventory assistance in identifying existing CHP projects as well as future potential CHP applications. Working directly with the Midwest CHP Application Center and the University of Chicago, Illinois EPA was instrumental in bringing together the Illinois CHP/BCHP Environmental Permitting Guidebook, published in January 2003. This publication presents step-by-step guidance to assist and expedite the permitting process for CHP applicants. Illinois EPA also served on the advisory steering committee for the first Illinois statewide CHP conference held July 9, 2002, in Chicago, Illinois, and the Agency is an advocate of the Midwest CHP Initiative, which promotes CHP applications throughout the Midwest. | |
