| Partner Profile The Intermountain CHP Application Center promotes greater adoption of CHP in the States of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The Center’s activities include free technical and economic feasibility screenings, web resources, case studies, education and outreach, workshops, coalition building, and policy review and reform. The Center provides project and policy support and resources for CHP systems fueled by natural gas as well as renewable fuels, such as biomass or biogas from wastewater treatment plants, agricultural and feedlot operations, food and beverage processing, forest thinnings, landfills, and industrial waste. The Center also works with businesses and project developers to find opportunities to utilize absorption chillers and other thermally driven cooling equipment in CHP projects, increasing the number of applications in which CHP makes sense. The Intermountain CHP Center is a partnership among the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP), the etc Group, and Energy Strategies. Initial funding came from a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) grant to the Wyoming Business Council. The Center has also received support from DOE's central office. Utah Power/PacifiCorp and Questar Gas are funding partners, and the state energy offices provide program and project support. | |
