| Partner Profile Montana's Department of Environmental Quality's (DEQ's) mission is to protect, sustain, and improve a clean and healthful environment to benefit present and future generations. The DEQ is a member of the Northwest Clean Energy Application along with Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska. The DEQ's Energy and Pollution Prevention Bureau has had a long relationship with the Department of Energy's biomass and bioenergy program, and has worked on biomass and bioenergy development in the state in cooperation with the Department of Energy since 1982. | |
