On September 22, 2009, the Administrator signed the final Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Rule.  This rulemaking effort began with the FY2008 Consolidated Appropriations Act (H.R. 2764; Public La 110-161).

A brief timeline of the rulemaking process appears below.

October 30, 2009:
Rule published in the Federal Register (www.regulations.gov) under Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OAR-2008-0508.
September 22, 2009:
Final Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Rule is signed by the Administrator.
June 9, 2009:
End of 60-day public comment period.
April 16, 2009:
Public hearing, Sacramento, CA
April 10, 2009:
Proposed rule published in the Federal Register (www.regulations.gov) under Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OAR-2008-0508.
April 6-7, 2009:
Public hearing, Arlington, VA
March 10, 2009:

December 26, 2007:
