For the first time, EPA is releasing the total GHG quantity associated with each company's petroleum product exports from the United States as reported under Subpart MM for 2010. This information is available in the suppliers portion of the publication tool: http://ghgdata.epa.gov/ghgp/main.do#/facility/?q=Facility or Location&fid=&sc=22&so=0&ds=S&yr=2010, and also available for download here: http://epa.gov/climatechange/emissions/ghgdata/2010data.html. EPA has also updated the total GHG quantity reported by all importers and exporters of petroleum products as reported to the GHGRP for 2010.

For the first time, EPA is releasing all data that has been determined to be non-confidential as reported by facilities in the following industry types: Adipic Acid Production (E), Aluminum Production (F), HCFC-22 Production and HFC-23 Destruction (O), Lead Production (R), Lime Manufacturing (S – CEMS), Miscellaneous Uses of Carbonate (U), Nitric Acid Production (V), Phosphoric Acid Production (Z), Silicon Carbide Production (BB), Soda Ash Manufacturing (CC), Titanium Dioxide Production (EE) and Zinc Production (GG). This information is available for download in a spreadsheet posted here: http://epa.gov/climatechange/emissions/ghgdata/2010data.html

In the publication tool itself, EPA has now added a link from each facility's 'profile' page to a version of their annual report that contains all publically available information reported by that facility in HTML format. This page may be accessed by clicking 'View Reported Data' from a facility's page.

EPA has also updated the unit fields in the data publication tool to make it more clear which values are presented in units of 'metric tons' and which values are presented in 'million metric tons' of carbon dioxide equivalent.

For the first time, EPA is releasing data reported by suppliers of petroleum products as reported under Subpart MM for 2010. The total GHG quantity associated with products supplied by each refinery is available in the suppliers portion of the publication tool, and also available for download. EPA has also made available for download the total GHG quantity reported by importers and exporters of petroleum products as reported to the GHGRP for 2010.

Facilities continue to re-submit their 2010 GHG annual reports; therefore, EPA has released updated versions of all files available for download and updated each facility's 2010 report in the GHGRP publication tool. All data is now consistent with the latest report received from facilities by April 6, 2012.

EPA has updated the data in the excel file that summarizes 2010 data to now include emissions reported by facilities under Subpart U — Miscellaneous Use of Carbonates. This file also now indicates which facilities report CO2 emissions that include CO2 collected on-site and used to manufacture other products or transferred off-site or injected.

EPA has updated the publication tool to reflect the county in which each facility is located in. This information was incomplete in the last release.

On February 21, EPA released one large XML file which contained each facility’s report. No new information is being released at this time, but EPA is now making the data available both in XML and HTML format. Additionally, EPA is releasing individual facility reports for audiences interested in analyzing data from specific facilities, industries or states.

EPA has posted one zip file which contains non-confidential versions of individual facility reports organized by reporting subpart and a second zip file with individual facility reports organized by state. Data is now available in HTML files which have been formatted to be easy to read using any web browser. Individual facility XML files are also now available, organized in a similar manner.

Each .zip file EPA has posted, including the one that contains all facility reports in one XML file now contain a read me file. The read me provides instructions on how to open XML files using excel and also provides links to free software which converts XML into a format that is easier to read.

Facilities continue to re-submit their 2010 GHG annual reports; therefore, EPA will periodically release updated versions of this file to reflect changes made by facilities. All data reflects the most recent facility reports submitted to EPA by February 10, 2012.

EPA also provides 2010 GHG Reporting Program data in user-friendly spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel format which summarizes the information available in the xml file for RY 2010. The file contains the most important, high-level information reported by direct emitters and suppliers and can be easily sorted to respond to many common queries. Due to the complex, conditionally hierarchical structure of the data set, it is impossible to represent all of the information from the XML file in a single spreadsheet (e.g., Microsoft Excel worksheet).

In addition, two new GHGRP data sets are being released and may be found on the GHGRP data downloads page. The first data set includes non confidential data elements provided by reporters and is available in XML format. The types of data elements provided in this file include methods used by the facilities to estimate their emissions, unit level data (if this data is non-confidential) and other facility-specific data. The second file contains the name and location of each facility's highest-level United States parent company or companies, as reported to EPA.
