May 10, 2012 –U.S. GHG Reporting Program Training and Testing Opportunities
e-GGRT Overview Training: An instructional webinar for Reporting Year 2011 facilities on how to use e-GGRT, EPA's electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool. This overview webinar will be especially helpful to first-time reporters who are unfamiliar with e-GGRT. The webinar will review the basics of the reporting tool and will discuss the opportunity for reporters to participate in the e-GGRT sandbox, a preview opportunity that will enable reporters to become familiar with the look, feel, and function of the e-GGRT reporting forms. e-GGRT Training for 2011 Subpart FF Underground Coal Mine Reporters: A webinar designed to assist Underground Coal Mine reporters in navigating e-GGRT. This session is intended to supplement the e-GGRT Overview Training webinar. The e-GGRT Training Subpart FF webinar will be held on June 7, 2012 from 2:30-3:30pm EDT. Register
e-GGRT Sandbox Period: The e-GGRT sandbox will offer reporters a preview of the reporting tool and will enable reporters to become familiar with the look, feel, and function of e-GGRT's RY2011 electronic reporting forms. April 5, 2012 – GHG Reporting Program (e-GGRT) Registration Webinar
Under Subpart FF of the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, owners or operators of facilities that liberate 36,500,000 actual cubic feet (acf) of methane (CH4) or more per year (equivalent to 100,000 acf of CH4 or more per day) must report emissions from underground coal mines and all other source categories located at the mine for which methods are defined in the rule. Mines which were subject to Subpart FF in 2011 (the first year of monitoring) are required to report by September 28, 2012 and register in e-GGRT by July 30, 2012. More information »
A webinar will be held next month for emitters who have not previously registered with the electronic reporting tool e-GGRT. This overview webinar will cover registration procedures for Reporting Year 2011 facilities and will be held on May 10, 2012 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm (EST).

March 15, 2012 – New Publications and CAR Coal Mine Methane Project Protocol
Coal Mine Methane Project Protocol V2.0 Now Available for Public Comment
The Climate Action Reserve has released a draft revision of the Coal Mine Methane Project Protocol for public review and comment. The protocol is undergoing a policy revision to consider expanding the scope of the regulatory compliance requirement and to incorporate feedback received since its adoption in 2009. Proposed changes have been tracked in the protocol draft available on the Coal Mine Methane Revision web page .

January 26, 2012 – Coal Mine Methane Opportunities: Turkey and United States

January 12, 2011 – 2010 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Data from Large Facilities Now Available
For the first time, comprehensive greenhouse gas (GHG) data reported directly from large facilities and suppliers across the country are now easily accessible to the public through EPA's GHG Reporting Program. The 2010 GHG data released today includes public information from facilities in nine industry groups that directly emit large quantities of GHGs, as well as suppliers of certain fossil fuels.
EPA's online data publication tool allows users to view and sort GHG data for calendar year 2010 from over 6,700 facilities in a variety of ways—including by facility, location, industrial sector, and the type of GHG emitted. This information can be used by communities to identify nearby sources of GHGs, help businesses compare and track emissions, and provide information to state and local governments.
Mandated by the FY2008 Consolidated Appropriations Act, EPA launched the GHG Reporting Program in October 2009, requiring the reporting of GHG data from large emission sources across a range of industry sectors, as well as suppliers of products that would emit GHGs if released or combusted. Most reporting entities submitted data for calendar year 2010. An additional 12 source categories, including underground coal mines, will begin reporting their 2011 GHG data this year.
