Basic Pesticide and Use Concerns Pesticide Inspector Residential Training (PIRT) – July 31-August 3, 2023 (Asheville, North Carolina)
Objective
The course will focus on basic pesticide inspector skills, current pesticide use concerns that are facing our inspection staff (Worker Protection Standard, Soil Fumigation, Pollinator Protection, Bulk Containment, and Respiratory Protection), enforcement case documentation, and updates from the EPA.
The program is intended to be interactive and include sharing of information and experiences by all attendees. Participants should come away from this course with an enhanced understanding of pesticide registration, enforcement history, use documentation, FIFRA, and investigational and enforcement skills.
Nominees with less than 2 years of pesticide regulatory experience in enforcing agricultural laws or regulations and who routinely conduct Ag and related inspections in their state, will be given preference.
