This chapter introduces the Design for the Environment (DfE) Cleaner Technologies Substitutes Assessment (CTSA) for Professional Fabricare Processes. Section 1.1 describes the background for the CTSA and its relationship to the broader Garment and Textile Care Partnership. Section 1.2 discusses the CTSA's approach, including scope of coverage, focus on certain technologies, and why particular information may be relevant. A brief description of the intended use of this document concludes this chapter.
