EPA held a series of roundtable discussions on its Draft Environmental Justice Methodology for the Definition of Solid Waste rule. These meetings were intended to be an opportunity for a public dialogue on how best to conduct the Environmental Justice Analysis. Stakeholders were invited to provide feedback on any aspect of the methodology.
Draft Environmental Justice Methodology for the Definition of Solid Waste Rule (PPT) (25 pp, 192K) – Provides background and overview of the draft Environmental Justice Methodology and includes questions for stakeholder discussion. This is the basic presentation that was used at the three roundtable meetings.
January 28, 2010 - New Orleans, LA
The first public roundtable was held concurrently with the National Environmental Justice Advisory Council (NEJAC) public meeting in New Orleans, LA. It was held on the afternoon of Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the New Orleans Marriott
at 555 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA.
February 23, 2010 - EPA Potomac Yard Conference Center, Arlington, VA
The second public roundtable was held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at EPA’s Potomac Yard building in Arlington, Virginia.
February 25, 2010 - Web Conference
The third public roundtable was held as a web conference to accommodate anyone who would like to be involved in the public discussion but who cannot attend either of the in-person meetings. The web conference was able to accommodate questions and comments from all those attending. The conference was held on Thursday, February 25, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
