The National Recycling Coalition (NRC) is a national
non-profit advocacy group with members that span
all aspects of waste reduction, reuse and recycling
in North America. It's objective is to eliminate
waste and promote sustainable economies through
advancing sound management practices for raw materials
in North America.

Network (GRN)
The Global Recycling Network is currently constructing
its GRN Marketplace Web site. The site offers recycled-content
product information.
Green
Seal ![]()
Green Seal is the independent, nonprofit organization
dedicated to protecting the environment by promoting
the manufacture and sale of environmentally responsible
consumer products. It sets environmental standards
and awards a "Green Seal of Approval"
to products that cause less harm to the environment
than other similar products.
Office of
the Federal Environmental Executive
This office promotes, coordinates, and assists federal
agencies with waste prevention, recycling, and the
affirmative procurement of products made with recycled
content and environmentally preferable products
and services.
Recycler's
World
This site is a worldwide trading site for information
related to secondary or recyclable commodities,
by-products, used materials, and surplus items.
There is also a calendar of events, a listing of
associations, and a publications list.
Scientific
Certification Systems (SCS)
SCS documents environmental claims, such as "recycled
content" and "biodegradability,"
appearing on thousands of products and materials.
SCS's Compliance Evaluation Program helps retailers,
government agencies, and corporate procurement officials
screen the environmental claims made by their vendors
to ensure responsible green marketing.

(EPP)
EPP is a federal-wide program that encourages and
assists Executive agencies in the purchasing of

This site includes tools to implement EPP, successful
stories, events, and an EPP discussion section.

This site includes an online Recycled Content Product
(RCP) Database, consisting of information on recycled
products, manufacturers, distributors, reprocessors,
mills, and converters who procure or produce recycled-content
products or the recycled materials needed to make
them. The result is a growing list of over 10,000
materials, products, and businesses.

Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR)

The Recycled PET (RPET) Catalog provides a list
of suppliers that manufacture products containing
postconsumer PET plastic bottles.

Association of State Purchasing Officials (NASPO)

This site provides monthly updates on buy recycled
and green purchasing, and describes the county's
experience with different recycled products. The
site also includes information on resources for
buyers, provides a model environmental purchasing
policy, and contains the King County Recycled Procurement
1998 Annual Report.
