- GMI Now Soliciting Grant Money for Methane Emission Reduction Projects
The EPA's Global Methane Initiative (GMI) has issued a major Request for Proposals to fund projects and activities that advance methane abatement, recovery and use as a clean energy source. Proposals will be accepted from States, local governments, territories, Indian Tribes, and possessions of the U.S. The total estimated amount for this competitive funding opportunity is up to $5,000,000. Applications must be received no later than January 19, 2012, 4:00 P.M. EST. - The Natural Gas STAR Partner Update – Fall 2011
This issue announces Natural Gas STAR partner emission reductions for the 2010 reporting year and discusses the significance of this achievement for both partners and the program. This issue recaps the first GMI Partnership Wide Meeting, which took place October 2011 in Krakow, Poland and included 160 Partner Country representatives, government leaders, and technical experts from 31 countries.
