Species that comprise the mangrove formation are useful to man. The discussion that follows is the result of communication with many people throughout the world and my own library researches. The consensus of opinion among my correspondents, is that knowledge of uses of mangrove is difficult to obtain, out-of-date, tenuous at best, and often frustratingly lacking because most usage is local and never reported. I concur with that opinion.
