This grant will support the collection of sediment samples in nine (9)
designated fisheries lakes on the Fond du Lac Reservation. These lakes are
part of the watershed for the St. Louis Area of Concern, and the sediment
assessment will provide valuable information regarding the levels of
sediment contamination in these lakes. Sediment samples will be analyzed for
mercury, PCBs, and lead. Additionally, biological toxicity tests will be
performed on a subset (four to six) of the study lakes. |
