When joining the Green Power Partnership, you have the flexibility to choose whether your entire organization or a facility within your organization become a Partner. This flexibility allows an organization to refine its green power procurement strategy as it purchases green power over time. There are two Partnership levels for consideration:
- Organization-wide (U.S. operations only)
- Facility level or a logical aggregation of facilities less than organization-wide
For organizations not participating at the organization-wide level, EPA only recognizes the participating subentity as the Green Power Partner. Facility level or an aggregation of facilities must be based on a logical rationale that allows EPA to list the Partner commitment accordingly. Facility-level Partners are not eligible for the Green Power Leadership Club or the 100% Green Power Purchasers list.
- To determine your electricity use, work with your electricity supplier to assess the amount of your annual electricity use (kilowatt-hours) for your facility or a logical aggregation of facilities, up to an organization-wide (U.S. operations only) level.
For additional information on purchase scope, please review the Partnership Requirements (PDF) (19 pp, 520K, About PDF).
