Partner Profile Boston Sand & Gravel Company is proud to be a part of major public initiatives for renewable energy, Commonwealth Solar and Solar Boston programs. A cornerstone of the company's sustainability program, a 109 kW PV solar energy system has been producing renewable energy at the main facility in Boston since December 2008. This system provides 92 percent of Boston Sand & Gravel's energy usage at its primary maintenance facility and 11.0 percent of the overall energy of the entire concrete production facility. This system allows Boston Sand & Gravel Company to support its customers with materials for green construction while reducing its energy consumption in the production of those materials.
