Partner Profile Boston Sand & Gravel Company is proud to be a part of major public initiatives for renewable energy, Commonwealth Solar, and Solar Boston programs. A cornerstone of the company's sustainability program is its 109 kW PV solar energy system that has been producing renewable energy at the main facility in Boston since December 2008. This system provides 110% of Boston Sand & Gravel's energy usage at its primary maintenance facility and 11% of the overall energy of the entire concrete production facility. This system allows Boston Sand & Gravel Company to support its customers with materials for green construction, while reducing its energy consumption of traditional energy sources in the production of those materials.
