| Partner Profile Carlton Fields, PA embarked on a sustainability journey in 2007. As a legal services provider, the company does not have many of the environmental issues facing other companies, but still wanted to analyze and minimize their ecological footprint. Carlton Fields came to the conclusion that though recycling and green procurement was important, the reduction of our energy use and offsetting the impact through renewable energy credits (RECs) would have the most impact. As a relatively small organization they have made an organization-wide commitment to cover all their electricity use through RECs. The company reevaluates their REC purchase each year to match our expanding business operations. Most importantly, their commitment goes beyond simply making a purchase — rather they are committed to educating the industry, utilities, and clients about the impact of purchasing RECs on the vital development of new renewable energy sources. | |
