| Partner Profile Coffee Bean International measures and evaluates their carbon impact through the Specialty Coffee Association of America's Sustainability Tracking and Reporting Tool (START). Through continuous improvement initiatives, Coffee Bean International incrementally reduces their natural gas, electricity, and water usage and shifts the waste away from the landfill on a per-coffee-pound basis. Their two regenerative thermal oxidizers have dramatically reduced natural gas usage and offer superior heat recovery characteristics. Where they cannot reduce energy usage, they purchase renewable energy certificates (RECs). On an ongoing basis, they work with their supplier partners to reduce their impact by innovating in the materials and methods they use. | |
